Neon Guys (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you visit our website at neonguys.co.uk.

Who We Are

What Data We Collect

Information you provide: When you submit a quote enquiry or contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if provided), and details about your sign request.

Analytics data: With your consent, we use Google Analytics to collect anonymised usage data such as pages visited, time on site, device type, and approximate location. This data is used solely to understand how visitors use our site and improve the experience.

AI Design Studio: If you use our AI design tool, we also process the messages you send in the chat, any images you choose to upload (such as a logo or a photo of your space), and the design choices you make, in order to generate a mockup of your sign and prepare a quote.

How We Contact Businesses About Our Services

We sometimes contact businesses directly to offer our signage services, including businesses that have recently submitted a planning or advertisement-consent application suggesting they may need signage.

Where we get your details: We obtain business contact information from publicly available sources, primarily local authority planning registers and publicly listed business details (such as a business's own website). We contact businesses only, not private individuals.

What we use: Your business name and address, details of your public planning application, and, where publicly available, a business email or phone number.

Our lawful basis: We rely on legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)), namely promoting our signage services to businesses likely to need them. We have carried out a legitimate interests assessment weighing this against your rights.

Your choice: Every marketing email explains how to opt out. You can object at any time and we will stop contacting you and delete your details. Just reply to any email or contact us at contact@neonguys.co.uk. You can also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).

How long we keep it: We keep prospect business contact details for as long as we have a legitimate interest in offering our services, and we review this periodically. If you opt out or ask us to delete your details, we will stop contacting you and remove them promptly.

AI Design Studio

Our AI Design Studio is an automated tool that helps you design a neon sign. When you use it, your chat messages, any images you upload, and your design choices are processed by the third-party AI providers listed below (Anthropic and Google) to run the conversation and generate a photorealistic mockup. The finished mockup is then emailed to you and to our team.

We do not store the images you upload on our own servers — they are sent to the AI provider to create your mockup and delivered to you and our team by email. Please only upload images you have the right to use, and avoid uploading photos that show identifiable people without their consent.

The chat is an automated assistant, not a member of staff. Anything it says about pricing, timescales, or feasibility is indicative only, and nothing is confirmed until a member of our team has reviewed and confirmed it with you.

Third-Party Services

Formspree: Form submissions are processed through Formspree. Their privacy policy is available at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.

Anthropic (Claude): The AI Design Studio chat is powered by Anthropic. Your messages are processed to run the conversation. Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, your content is not used to train their models. Their privacy policy is available at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.

Google (Gemini): Photorealistic mockups are generated using Google's Gemini image model. The images you upload and your design are sent to Google to create the mockup. On the paid API tier we use, your content is not used to train Google's models. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.

Resend: We use Resend to email your mockup to you and your enquiry to our team. Their privacy policy is available at resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Google Analytics: With your consent, we use Google Analytics to analyse site traffic. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.

Vercel: Our website is hosted on Vercel. Their privacy policy is available at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

International Data Transfers

Some of our providers (Anthropic, Google, Resend, Formspree, and Vercel) are based in the United States, so your data may be transferred outside the UK. Where this happens, the transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the UK's International Data Transfer Agreement, Standard Contractual Clauses, or the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Withdraw consent for analytics cookies at any time
  • Object to direct marketing at any time
  • Lodge a complaint with the ICO (ico.org.uk)

Data Retention

Form submissions and AI Design Studio enquiry details (including your mockup) are retained for up to 24 months to fulfil orders and handle aftercare. Analytics data is retained for 14 months in Google Analytics. Images you upload to the AI Design Studio are not retained on our servers; they are processed by our AI provider to create your mockup in line with that provider's own retention policy.
